"We appreciate Nashville Metro's order, which provides their police department and emergency responders with LRAD systems and support equipment for almost any situation," remarked Tom Brown, president and CEO of LRAD Corporation. "Using powerful, highly intelligible long range voice broadcasts, LRAD systems assist law enforcement and emergency responders serve warrants safely, conduct SWAT operations, talk down potential suicides from bridges and buildings, safely remove barricaded subjects, conduct DUI checkpoints, warn residents of imminent weather-related or man-made danger, communicate instructions to crowds during large outdoor events and many other civil applications."
LRAD systems transmit focused, multi-language voice commands and warning tones that can be clearly heard and understood inside buildings and vehicles and over background noise in any type of terrain and environment over distances from 200 yards to 2 miles.
