LRAD® Corporation Receives $870,000 in AHD Orders for US Marine Corps and US Army
SAN DIEGO, CA – November 1, 2017 – LRAD Corporation (NASDAQ: LRAD), the world’s leading provider of acoustic hailing devices (“AHDs”) and advanced mass notification systems, today announced AHD orders for the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army (“Army”) totaling $870,000. The follow-on Marine Corps order is comprised of LRAD 450XL systems and vehicle mounts that will be used for training Allied Forces in perimeter and convoy security and incident response in the Middle East. The second order is a combination of small, medium and large LRAD systems, mounts and accessories that will be deployed by U.S. Army forces in the Asia-Pacific region. Both orders are scheduled to ship in the Company’s current fiscal quarter ending December 31, 2017.
“America’s military ground forces are required to support the full spectrum of missions from combat and counterinsurgency to disaster response and humanitarian assistance. Regardless of the mission or location, clear communication and scalable escalation of force (“EOF”) are critical to mission success,” commented Richard S. Danforth, Chief Executive Officer of LRAD Corporation. “These two orders demonstrate the continuing commitment of U.S. ground forces to LRAD systems to fill the critical gaps between initial engagement, EOF and combat operations.”
LRAD systems broadcast audible, voice messages and deterrent tones with exceptional clarity from close range out to 5.5 kilometers. LRAD’s advanced driver and waveguide technology ensures every broadcast is clearly heard and understood over background noise. From the portable LRAD 100X to larger systems temporarily or permanently mounted on vehicles, vessels or helicopters, LRAD systems improve the operational effectiveness of military missions.
